At El Turista, tortillas are homemade, evident in the tender, fresh wraps enveloping fillings that range from mini steak tacos to cheesy quesadillas. Reviewers rave about the authenticity, with Melissa Price describing the experience as “tasting straight out of abuelita’s kitchen.” The powerful comfort of these dishes is enhanced by complementary sides like fresh fruit cups and an ice-cold classic Coke, rounding out the meal perfectly.

Birria and carnitas are repeated favorites, affirming the care and expertise behind the kitchen's offerings. The quesabirria, paired with a variety of dips including sour cream and consomé, highlights the thoughtfulness in flavor layering and presentation. The food? Insanely good. Super authentic. We devoured mini steak tacos and cheesy quesadillas wrapped in homemade tortillas that tasted straight out of abuelita’s kitchen. A fresh fruit cup hit the sweet spot, and nothing beats washing it all down with an ice-cold real Coke. We kicked back on the benches, soaking in good vibes and even better people. Pure magic.

Grabbed a quesabirria for early dinner, was delish! Came with sour cream and several other dips in addition to console. Great service! Ignore the missing bite, I couldn't resist it needed a bite before the picture

I get the feeling people are missing this place because it's not in a spot with natural foot traffic. But if you see this review, I promise you won't regret having lunch here. Probably the best torta I ever had. The bread was out of this world, as well as the steak and the sauces. 1000% recommended. Lovely lady running the place too.

This is a fantastic little streetside restaurant. Built from a shipping container with an open air patio covered by a pole shed. It's 2 lots off the main drag in downtown Marfa. We had steak quesadillas, Carnitas and birra tacos. All well seasoned, fresh and delicious.
